Spring is Here? ? ?

O.K. - so I know isn't really Spring but it sure feels great out there and all the "wildlife" is out in full swing. I wanted to share a couple of photos of what's been keeping us busy around here (and what our new camera can do Melissa)

I just LOVE these photos I took while waiting on Mason & Braden to get off the bus . . . such detail - isn't God amazing?!?

I LOVE that the butterflies make their way through here on their journey south!

and I LOVE that I actually took my first French lesson today and had a total blast!

I do have a few projects I'm working on and hopefully I'll be ready to share them in a day or two. Until then, Au Revour (sp?)!
p.s. - if anyone is interested, Abbi has her first soccer game Sat. @ 8:30 (I know, its early!)

Cool Card . . .

So I've been meaning to make this card for a while and now that I've done it ~ I just LOVE the way it turned out. This is for my friend Shellie's mom who has cancer and she is going to Houston again this weekend for another treatment (please say a prayer!)

If you notice, the top left corner is kinda cut out and the clouds are covering a portion of the "SON"..... (I used the cricut (zooballoo) to cut out the clouds and then edged them with black ink for the stormy look)

but when you open it up, there is the whole "Son" shining! I just loved that little idea & am always proud of myself when something like this comes from my own brain! (as opposed to copying it from someone else)

Maybe you could do this for someone when they need to be reminded no matter how difficult the storm, Jesus is always there!
Happy Weekend!

Cricut Challenge . . .

I was right in the middle of this layout when I discovered a Great Contest by Cricut (which just happens to be possibly the greatest crafting tool EVER!) So Hopefully, I do everything right and get all the links - maybe I could even win?!?

Be sure to check out the latest Cricut Promotion, The Great Gypsy Escape! Purchase one of 4 new Cricut catridges for a chance to win a new Gyspy (handheld design studio for Cricut), $2,000 travel vouchers and even a $30,000 trip to one of 5 fabulous locations!

I love how easy the Cricut makes it to "match" everything! I was even able to use the flower designs to mimic music notes. I loved the elegant look and how it all ties together!

Have fun and go use your Cricut!

flower girls....

Aren't they cute? Don't answer 'cause I already know ~ they are ADORABLE! This is Abbi and Taylor as flower girls at Amber and Adam's wedding last May. This was an experiment in "white space" as I usually use a patterned paper as a background. Using white I feel the need to fill it all up. Products were Paper Studio, Mark Richards, Anna Griffing and ribbon recycled from Amber's gift to Abbi (love it when I can do that - recycling!) Let me know what you think of the use of "white space."

Sorry, the humidity was messing with the paper and the camera!

Love this photo of Amber and Abbi under the veil. Also makes me laugh when I remember how funny Taylor was about dropping the petals and saying "uh -oh" like they needed to clean them up! Super Cute Stuff!

Happy Day Everybody!

Starting from Scratch~

Sometimes I think It's easier to start something from scratch rather than work within the "kit" provided. Here are two cards I did for my parents whose birthdays happen to be within a week of each other. I used a card pack from Creative Memories and the only add'l thing was the polka-dot ribbon from Heidi Swapp. Enjoy and be Inspired!

GCD Blog Hop Goodies in Use . . .

O.K. - I'll admit one of my faults in scrapping is being too chronilogical. I HATE to do it, but I can't seem to change it. So how excited was I when I opened my GCD Studios Blog Hop package I WON and there was this bowling paper just in time for Braden's first trip to bowling on my birthday last year! (yeah, when you do the math you can see I am a tad bit behind)

I tried to do some clustering with some of my random goodies (all in circles to keep with the bowling ball theme) and kinda liked the way it turned out.

I made this "luggage tag" with the layover that came in the package and used staples since I thought that was more masculine. I hope my friend Jennifer likes it and can put it to use! Little Carter is such a cutie!

Hope you are having fun on this rainy day - great time for scrappin'!

Took me by Surprise!

So Who Knew I would ever take down such a fantastic photo (they certainly aren't cheap and I know they don't belong in a box somwhere) ? So yesterday when I removed this one to make room for an adorable shot of the three children together I had to do something with this one - so for my scrapbook it goes. (Actually, hopefully it will have another home temporarily ~ wish me luck!)

This is exclusive Little Yellow Bicycle from their Valentine's 2009 (?) Collection. I think the silver "pearls" were from Hobby Lobby. Truly enjoyed the walk down memory lane for a bit.

Just love those sweet baby faces:) Happy Day!

Might as well be her Birthday!

Here is a quick card I made for my Mother. I am totally tardy with her Mother's Day Gift so I made the card for a "Happy Day" Mommy's can use all the happy days they can get. Anyway, I loved the mini rub-ons by Love, Elsie, the flowers were by Petaloo and the butterflies were Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby) and lastly the flocked lace was We R Memory Keepers. Lately I've just been really into making cards for the occasion instead of buying them - hope you enjoy!

Hopefully I will have the chance to finish a project today with the great GCD studios stuff I got and post it on here - If not, check back tomorrow. This new schedule for school is great but is taking some adjusting. Happy Day to you!
