A little something EXTRA!!!

So I thought I'd post this since it's current (as in recently finished as opposed to the timing of the event) This is the twins party last year at Gulf World. When I went shopping for stuff I didn't want to be too "watery" but wanted the colors to "pop" I'm not usually an Anna Griffin fan for the kids because it's so "formal" but I loved the color and the left hand paper actually looked like coral 9at least I thought so. Anyway, This layout took like three days (not straight) and I spent alot of time cutting out details and piecing things together. Even made a rosette - sorta.

Here is a close-up of the rosette - it was sheer ribbon that I just pulled the edge on one side. thise gave me a bit of a challenge adhering it but I think I finally got it. It's on a punched scalloped circle, which is layered behind one of the circles cut out of one of the papers and then topped with another cut-out and a jewel. I tried to keep the silver from the bubbles on the invitation. I felt including the invitation removed a need for alot of random journaling.

Another time consumer was the title. I originally just wanted the teal but it didn't "pop" again the background - can you see the "look" of coral? So then I put it onto the green and coated it with the clear acrylic/glass stuff. Kinda looks like water without being too cheesy.

All paper is Anna Griffin. Black letters= making memories, ribbon & jewels = misc.

Slow but Surely ~

we are returning to "normal" around here. YEAH! After an anniversary trip to New Orleans we are refreshed and ready to take it "all" on again. I worked on this layout before I left and was inspired by all the banners that are cropping up (no pun intended) everywhere in the scrapbooking world. So I did my first version. I used GCD Papers, Making Memories embellishments as well as some cardstock. I am SO NOT A FAN of white space - makes me feel like I forgot something. In the end, I like the page and it helped me put a LOT of photos on one page.

I used my Circle Cutter and inside each one I journaled a short comment about the photos. A different way to tell the story in a short version - not my usual style.

Here is a closeup of the "banner" - the MM embellishment was like an elastic/rope type stuff. Very cool and glad I finally got to use it.

flower girls....

Aren't they cute? Don't answer 'cause I already know ~ they are ADORABLE! This is Abbi and Taylor as flower girls at Amber and Adam's wedding last May. This was an experiment in "white space" as I usually use a patterned paper as a background. Using white I feel the need to fill it all up. Products were Paper Studio, Mark Richards, Anna Griffing and ribbon recycled from Amber's gift to Abbi (love it when I can do that - recycling!) Let me know what you think of the use of "white space."

Sorry, the humidity was messing with the paper and the camera!

Love this photo of Amber and Abbi under the veil. Also makes me laugh when I remember how funny Taylor was about dropping the petals and saying "uh -oh" like they needed to clean them up! Super Cute Stuff!
