Views of School's First Day~

Well, it's officially school time again. We had good things and then a few "scary" moments as well. Abbi has a teacher that is very strict (which is fine for her rule-abiding self) but is totally different than what she is used to - will certainly require some adjusting. Mason has a good teacher but like most men - he has few words! Braden loves school even though he's only been to orientation - can't wait to see what tomorrow holds. Here are a few pics from the first day. . . enjoy!

Note in lunchboxes (on their napkins) reminding them we are thinking of them.

Handsome smile (finally!)

Mischevious is the word for this one!

Can we get this overwith? Dad took the pics and he doesn't have the patience Mom does when trying to get the "perfect" pictures.

Checking out the new desk.

Yeah, I'm gonna be fine (I think?)

The best backpack ever!

Mrs. Childs reads the famous "Kissing Hand"

Well, we're off again today. So much to do for Recognition Night tomorrow night. Whatever you're doing today, enjoy:)

Something Borrowed. . .

So I was hunting for inspiration and found it with a layout that Mrs. Scurlock posted on her blog (amberscurlock.blogspot.com). I had only two photos and she had only two photos so I scraplifted her page and here is how mine turned out. Hope you are pleased Amber!

This is Braden - age 3- and his first Best Friend . . Sawyer. They were adorable together!

Hopefully life will return to some routine soon and I can begin to have more to share on a "regular" basis. Have a great rest of the weekend!

Excited, Disappointed, Excited Again!

That is how I felt about this layout - so excited about the supplies I purchased (specifically for Abbi's yellow dress) but then it just wasn't working. I was inspired by a layout in my CK magazine and used my paper trim (very cool by Flair Designs) and bordered the photo. I was pleased with the result and it kinda "saved" the layout.

I did this little ruffle trim and actually liked the "lace" - whatcha think Lisa?

We spent some time yesterday with the family from Vegas, today I begin planning for Recognition Night at church in two weeks (Oh, my goodness!) and Mason has lost TWO teeth in one week! Enjoy your day:)

Scrappin' Old School - who knew?

Hello ladies! (& maybe gentlemen) Sorry to have been gone so long but I've been working for a client so not much personal work to share - but now back to business - yeah!

I purchased these "eyelets" which are so yesterday but I loved the look of them. Not the tiny ones but these were pretty cool (I thought) Anyway, I added this one to Abbi's layout and I really liked it - she's such an amazing & Brave girl (here she had just had stitches for a dog bite - ouch) but she looks so sweet and peaceful.

This is what happens when it rains at Aunt Stacey's house and we can't swim in the pool - every Fisher Price/Little People toy that was headed for the garage sale came out (courtesy of Braden) Anyway, the kids had fun even if they couldn't swim.

Here is an older layout I did using more metal and a classic look but I just loved it and thought I'd share some more "old school" with you guys.

Well, I should be back sooner than later - have a fun day!!

What We've Been Up To. . .

Lately it's been really busy around here! Trying to "study" for school (or at least not forget that 2 +2 =4) and getting all our "ducks" in a row. We took Braden for his pre-kindergarten well check which was TONS (not!) of fun. Here was on the scale weighing in at 43 lbs. I used this for my picture of the day.

Then Tuesday, our nieces Taylor & Tori (sure you all know them) spent the night with us. Here is Taylor & Abbi on the "spinny thing" ahh, the memories they'll have!

Can't leave out this little jewel! So stinkin' cute!

The hi-lite were the spaghetti faces - what could be better?

Hope to have some crafty stuff for you soon - been trying to work for profit so the stuff I can share is a bit limited right now. Have a fun day!

Stretch Baby, Stretch

So, I'm trying to "stretch" my style a little bit. I found these at Michael's the other day (part of K & Co.) and just knew "Baby Tori" would look "tweet" on this paper (get it . .. there are birds, birds say tweet, tweet) Anyway, I loved the way it turned out (I Hope you do too Melissa). Tori is growing up so fast (too fast if you ask me, but I'm sure no one is asking me.)

Gotta love those baby feet! Can you tell Uncle David was proud? He loves his little nieces.

I finally turned in my "application" for the American Crafts challenge - hopefully it all made it successfully (via email - multiple pics). Even though there are alot of applicants I'm sure, I am proud that I actually made good on the promise I've been telling myself for several years.

Enjoy your weekend folks - Daddy is off tomorrow so we will PLAY!

What I've Been Working On!

So one of the things I've been working on is preparing myself for this little guy to start Kindergarten in 43 days! My heart just melts thinking of him going to school - though he will be the cutest little guy there in his khaki's! I handed him his lunch yesterday and as he walked to the table I thought "wow, in a few days he'll be eating lunch with nearly 100 other children and I'll be by myself" Not so sure I'm as ready as I think I should be - he's been my sidekick for five years now - Lord help me let them go!

This was him practicing his kindergarten work - so cute - he said, "mommy you will be so happy for this!"

This is one of the layouts for the American Crafts challenge - I was pretty happy with the way it turned out. I don't usually take the time to cut paper the way I did this one but I was trying to keep in the circle theme of things.

Up close of the ribbon detail - pretty good bow huh?

This is the 2nd layout - I loved this pic of his when we picked blueberries - thanks for the new camera honey, cause he didn't even realize I was takiing his picture!

Love the glitter chipboard letters!

Again, a big fan of ribbon (especially the double sided by American Crafts!)

Here is a layout for mine & David's album - a flashback of Jan. 08 - Lisa, does this look familiar? I'm trying to streamline (& reduce the amount of pics) for our personal album - challenging when you have such great kiddos!

Enjoy your day=)
